Speaking to the official broadcaster recently, Brian Lara, SRH’s batting coach, said: “I have a lot of respect for Rashid Khan but he is the one against whom the opposition has decided to defend. He is not too much of a wicket taker.
But he was not his best as the batsmen took him to the cleaners against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was bowled in the seventh over of the innings. Although he gave up just six runs in his first over, Abhishek Sharma started the fight between the two by hitting a huge six in the long-on in the next over.
Rashid returned to his second spell in the 12th over and continued to attack the 20-year-old opener Afghan when he started the over with a six. It follows with three singles. And at the end of the over, Abhishek hit Rashid in the deep-midwicket again and got his fifty off 33 balls. Abhishek and Markram hit two boundaries in his next over as Rashid finished 4-0-45-0.

Rashid Khan is hailed as one of the best spinners in the world, especially in the short format of the game. However, he is struggling to take as many wickets as he wants in this IPL season. In eight games, he has taken eight wickets but though he has an economy rate of 7.09, which is the best for any bowler of the Gujarat Titans in this edition.
