Several Grandmasters and National Champions from more than 150 countries will participate in the Chess Olympiad. Hundreds of district-level players from Tamil Nadu have already requested them to watch the games live and the fever will soon spread across the country, the statement said.
The Olympiad was originally scheduled to be held by Russia in Moscow from July 26 to August 8, but was canceled after Russia invaded Ukraine in February.
