Who gets the Orange Cap? – Right from the start of the IPL in 2008, the orange cap was introduced, which will be given to the highest run scorer of the tournament. Throughout the season, the orange cap holder will change and whoever stays at the top of the run chart after the end of the season will receive a prize in a copy of the orange cap and will also be given Rs 10 lakh as a reward.
The top run-scorer of the season is awarded the Orange Cap.
- The batsman who has scored the most runs in the tournament this season will wear the orange cap while on the field.
- When tied, the batsman is given an orange cap with a good strike rate.
- The owner of the Orange Cap who is fielding is allowed to wear the Orange Cap until the end of the innings, even if an opposing batsman exceeds his run.
