A short-pitch delivery by the owner severely injured Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya’s helmet, prompting medical staff to rush to the middle. He didn’t lose steam during that brief interruption and replaced leg-before with his ill-fated yorker-length delivery to veteran Australian batsman Matthew Wade.

Elders praise Umran’s promise: Many commentators and cricketers have compared the owner’s long, steady run-up and smooth, explosive jump with that of former Pakistan great Walker Younis. He has some whip action on his back and with a strong wrist position the owner has been able to create that extra speed in his delivery.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has already predicted that the Kashmiri boy will soon play for Team India. And he also advised top officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that the owner should be sent to play some county cricket this summer to help him develop his game.
