The 36-year-old added: ‘You can see by the wound that he made contact. I was crying, I was shaking, Jacob was in complete shock – he was autistic and he had dyspraxia, so he couldn’t really digest until we got home. He’s really upset and it completely stopped him from playing again.
‘Ronaldo is a big player. My son always said “Ronaldo will be there” – he is an icon. I could tell Jacob was rocking it in his face but he wasn’t close to his face, it was checking his blows on the floor. She’s an autistic boy and she’s been abused by a football player. I see her as a mother. ‘
Ronaldo has apologized on social media for the matter. As a sign of simple faith and sport, he invited fans to watch a game at Old Trafford.
