Manchester United have stepped up their preparations for the modernization of Old Trafford and announced last week that they had assigned a team to renovate their home ground. Planners, who designed Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, will oversee the redevelopment of Old Trafford, with initial signs indicating that seating capacity is likely to increase.
According to the Daily Mail, the project adds about 15,000 more seats, including a long-awaited upgrade to the club’s corporate facilities. Sir Bobby Charlton has the potential to increase the stand, bringing Old Trafford’s capacity to 88,000. If changes are involved, Old Trafford will be second only to Wembley Stadium in terms of UK power.

About 100,000 Manchester United fans are on the waiting list for season tickets, and owners want to make sure there is enough demand for the expanded stadium to be filled regularly. Expansion of Manchester United Stadium could cost more than মিল 200 million.
It is understood that the club’s existing debt, which was £ 495m at the end of 2021, will not prevent them from borrowing more money. These figures have remained in the books since the Glazer family’s leveraged takeover in 2005.

It emerged last month that destroying Old Trafford and rebuilding it from scratch was one of the tougher options. United have been looking at the possibility of extending the old South Stand over the railroad for some time, and there are plenty of additional land options beside the site.
Sources said the club remained open-minded about the redevelopment, adding that it would “focus on modernization and potential expansion” with the aim of “preserving Old Trafford’s identity and heritage”.
