The South Carolina Cardinal overcame a midgame charge from Louisville to beat 72-59 and advance to the national championship. They will face women’s NCAA basketball powerhouse Connecticut, while the Huskies can overcome Stanford’s late charge and win the second game of the night 63-58.
Gamecocks started hot and went ahead early but Lewisville came back with their own 10-0 runs in the second quarter. But the country’s # 1 team came out of the halftime break and didn’t have to look back to win the semifinals.

Connecticut surpassed 19 turnovers and held Stanford just 17% on the road to a 63-58 win from behind the arc that sent the Huskies into the title game. They will be hoping to win their 12th national title when they take on Gamecox on Sunday night.
