The film will be adapted into a forthcoming book ‘Maverick Commissioner: The IPL-Lalit Modi Saga’Which is written by sports journalist Boria Majumder. The book sheds light on the story of Lalit Modi and leads to the formation of the IPL and even then the story continues because Modi was banned for life by the BCCI. The book will be published by Simon & Schuster India and will be published on 20 May.
Before the book was released, it was announced that the film would be adopted. With an update on the film on his Twitter account, producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri tweeted, “83 World Cup wins were the tip of the iceberg.

Lalit Modi was the first to come up with the idea of launching a tournament in India so that players from all over the world could play together. The BCCI came up with the idea and launched the Indian Premier League in 2008 with eight franchises. Modi was appointed chairman and commissioner of the league.

The league officially started on 18 April 2008 and 15 years later, the tournament has become the largest cricket league in the world. It is contributing immensely to Indian cricket as many talents have been found from the league who have gone on to play for the national team.
In 2010, the relationship between the IPL and Lalit Modi came to an end as he was suspended by the BCCI on corruption charges. Three years later, he was banned by the cricket board for misconduct and misconduct.
