After deciding to bowl after winning the toss, Rishabh Pant’s men did not allow the KKR batsmen to settle down as they continued to take wickets at regular intervals. Rishabh Pant’s two outs were in the same over and Kuldeep Yadav was the bowler.

When KKR 83/4, Kuldeep came to bowl the 14th over of the innings. With the first ball, Kuldeep makes a wide delivery that takes the bottom edge of Shreyas Iyer’s bat. Pant had to bend down but he caught with his right hand just inches above the ground. He made a lengthy appeal to the umpire before taking him to the third umpire. The replay confirmed that Pant had collected the ball clearly with his right hand and Shreyas was dismissed after scoring 42 off 37 balls.

After two deliveries, Andre Russell came out of the crease and wanted to play a big shot but missed the ball completely. Pant, this time, did not collect the ball clearly but was able to bring the ball back to the stumps which caught the short Russell at the crease. He went back without a run. It was Kuldeep’s fourth wicket of the match as he upset his former franchise again this season.

When the two teams met earlier this season, Kuldeep picked up a four-wicket haul to help the Delhi Capitals win the match by 44 runs. Kuldeep Yadav is now second in the purple cap table with 17 wickets.
