In a video uploaded by Chennai Super Kings, the RCB captain is seen hugging his former teammates and support staff. One of the most beautiful moments in that video was when Du Plessis ran like a baby and hugged CSK head coach Stephen Fleming. He also seems to be imitating CSK captain Rabindra Jadeja’s sword celebration.
In addition to Du Plessis, it was a kind of reunion for Australian pace bowler Josh Hazlewood and leg-spinner Korn Sharma, who were with the defending champions last year. Both the players were also seen exchanging pleasantries.
Faf du Plessis, who was the second highest run-getter of the season last year, was instrumental in CSK’s title-winning campaign. But he was not retained by the franchise and at auction, the RCB snatched the South African for Rs 60 crore and appointed him as captain.
As a captain he has done well for three of his four games so far. They are in the third place of the points table. Meanwhile, under Rabindra Jadeja, CSK got off to a catastrophic start with four defeats in four matches. Both the teams will play in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday, April 12.
