Pakistan Cricket Board: Ramiz Raja has no plans to resign as PCB chairman: Report

According to sources, Raja is waiting for the message of the new government and will remain in office till then.

They further said that if Ramiz Raja resigns from his post, the name of former PCB chairman Najam Sethi will be considered for him.

According to the PCB’s constitution, its patron-in-chief (Prime Minister of Pakistan) recommends the name of the chairman to the board of governors, who vote on the candidate.

However, over the years, the PCB chairman has changed with the change of federal government.

In 2018, when Imran Khan formed his government, PCB chairman Najam Sethi was immediately replaced by Ehsan Mani.

ICC meeting: Ramiz Raja’s offer for four-nation tournament rejected by ICC board

The almighty board on Sunday unanimously rejected the ambitious proposal of PCB chairman Ramiz Raja to host a four-nation tour of India, Australia and England under the auspices of the ICC.

Ramiz estimated revenue of US 7 750 million for five years.

“In any case, the ICC’s Committee on Finance and Trade (F&CA) was against the proposal. Since we know that the MPA (Partnership Agreement) does not allow a member country to host more than three countries, hosting four countries each year would in any case devalue the ICC’s own marquee event. PTI quoted a member of the board as saying.

Another sensitive issue that board members were quietly talking about at the meeting was whether Raja would be the PCB chairman.

These claims have not been removed, Ramiz could once again follow his 4 race proposal.
