Footage on social media showed Ronaldo swiping his hand to the ground as he walked from the pitch to the Goodison Park tunnel after Saturday’s match.

Witnesses said a 37-year-old fan dropped the phone from their hands and threw it to the ground, and Ronaldo later apologized on Instagram.
A Merseyside police spokesman said forces were contacting both clubs following reports of an alleged attack.

“As the players were leaving the pitch at 2.30pm, it was reported that a boy was assaulted by one of the team members while leaving the pitch.” Spokesman said.
“Investigations are ongoing and officers are currently working with the Everton Football Club to review the CCTV footage and are questioning a wide range of witnesses to ascertain whether any crime has been committed.”
The defeat puts United in seventh place in the Premier League and they face the possibility of being disqualified from next season’s Champions League as they are six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
