Running details of all courses in Aintree (Hurdle, Mildme and Grand National) have changed today. Good, from soft to good in place Before the Randox Grand National Festival (from good to soft)Thursday 7M April to Saturday 9M Including April)

Water will be provided in the Grand National Course today, 4 to 5 mm irrigation is being applied

Sulekha Verma, clerk of the course entry, explained at 4.00 pm today: “Last night we forecast rain but in the end we received only 0.5 mm of rain. Which today is a dry and windy day so the soil has dried up and we are now in all three courses good, good to soft.

“We have decided to water only the Grand National Course today and we will reduce irrigation by 4 to 5 mm.

“Hopefully the Grand National course should be taken to Good to Soft. We will test again in the morning before making any decision about giving more water. As always, our goal at Aintree is to create the best racing surface possible and we will continue to monitor the situation and respond appropriately. “
