Thomas Tuchel, Zinedine Zidane was considered manager

ESPN The shortlist of the final four includes Ten Hague, Pochettino, Spain boss Luis Enrique and Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui.

The other four are believed to be Bayern Munich’s Julian Nagelsman, Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel, Rogers and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskare in November.

Zinedine Zidane was an option before, but he could apply for a role in the French national team or Ligue 1 team Paris Saint-Germain. Luis Enrique had to be dropped as he only focused on preparations for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in November and Lopetegui feared to be ‘another Unai Emery’.

Tuchel was also considered for sale to owner Roman Abramovich’s club following official sanctions over his ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who led the Ukraine invasion, but Chelsea was ruled out.

In both Pochettino and Ten Hague finals, Real Madrid were a real threat to Pochettino’s head instead of Carlo Ancelotti this summer and the French team could demand a huge compensation fee for PSG Pochettino as his contract does not expire until the summer of 2023.
