In pursuit of the 200-run target, Mumbai Indians fought again and Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Dwivedi Bravis were dismissed in quick succession. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma put on a 64-run stand to keep the Mumbai Indians at bay but could not take the team home.

Earlier, the elegant KL Rahul led the Lucknow Super Giants to 199/4 in his 3rd IPL century and 100th IPL match. Manish Pandey supported him well with a tendency of 38 off 29 balls.
Sending to bat, Rohit Sharma’s surprise decision to hold Jaspreet Bumrah till the 4th over means that KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock got off to a great start. The pair set the stage at the 52-run opening stand. After the removal of Fabian Allen de Kock, KL Rahul put on a great 72-run stand with Manish Pandey for the third wicket. When the LSG lost to Marcus Stones and Deepak Hooda, KL Rahul seemed unable to fight. He single-handedly led LSG to 199/4, unbeaten on 103 runs.
