Men’s singles

Kidambi Srikanth is the top pick and he has been kept in an easy draw where Swadeshi Parupalli Kashyap is the other pick. Srikanth launched a campaign against China’s Li Shifeng. Meanwhile, Kashyap faced Weng Hongyang of China and started his campaign as the eighth pick.

Saina Nehwal’s participation in the tournament is still unclear as she withdrew from the Korea Open last week. If Saina takes part in this tournament, she will face Aya Ohori of Japan in her opening match.
