“Our investment in MLC in the United States is based on our belief in the exciting future of cricket in the United States and is consistent with our strategy to establish the Knight Riders as a global brand in T20 cricket.” Bollywood superstar and co-owner of KRG Shah Rukh Khan said in a statement.
KRG is owned by KKR and the CPL team Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR). They are fund investors in MLC.
“The plan to build a world-class cricket stadium in the greater Los Angeles area is exciting for us and the MLC. It will undoubtedly have a transformative effect on one of the world’s most iconic metropolitan areas. “ He added.

The stadium’s plans include state-of-the-art training facilities, locker rooms, luxurious suites, dedicated parking, discounts, field lighting and an international-grade pitch and venue to allow maximum hosting to meet International Cricket Council (ICC) accreditation. USA Cricket is expected to bid for future men’s and women’s World Cups, with the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup already co-hosted by the United States and the West Indies.
The ICC is bidding to include cricket in the 2028 Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles – if successful, the Great Park Stadium is expected to be the venue for the event in Southern California.
