The biggest upset came from the shooting venue. Sartaj Singh Tiwana of Lovely Professional University defeated Olympian Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar in the men’s 50m 3 final to win the gold.
Guru Nanak Dev University representative Tomar was at the top of the list at the end of the qualification.
In the first knockout round of the men’s recurve archery, Aditya Chowdhury of Lovely Professional University, who was at the top of the qualification, lost to Nishantha of Charan Singh University.

In the women’s recurve, Adamas University’s Ruma Biswas climbed to the top of the qualification, and Guru Jambeshwar advanced through knockouts relatively easily before reaching the semifinals in the University’s mind.
The track and field event will start from Saturday. Asian Games silver medalist Duti Chand, 400-meter runner Priya Mohan and long jumper Ansi Sojan were seen training on the field.
“Many of the athletes participating in KIUG 2021 have a lot of international exposure,” said Priya Mohan.
“It’s great for upcoming athletes and competitors, and puts pressure on those who have experience. It’s a great platform.”
The competition will start very early in the morning, where the events of the two longest distance races (men’s and women’s 10,000 meters) will be scheduled first.
