“We were very interested in getting Tan Kim Hare and also got the approval of SAI and the ministry but then he refused to accept the offer. So he is not coming now, ”Badminton Association of India (BAI) secretary general Sanjay Mishra told PTI.

“We are currently in talks with Matthias Boy. He has experience in coaching our players and has done well with Sattvik and Chirag. Nothing has been finalized yet but we are trying to get his services at least till the Asian Games.
Boye wanted to continue coaching Indian doubles players after the Tokyo Olympics but not on a full-time basis, which was not acceptable to the federation.
BAI then received ministry approval to appoint Tan Kim Har for five years until the 2026 Asian Games but the Malaysian refused to return to the second term for personal reasons.

Under Boye’s direction, Satvik and Chirag won two of their group three matches at the Tokyo Olympics but failed to advance to the knockout stages due to a dramatic three-way tie for the two qualifying spots, which decided to win and lose the game.
