The Gujarat Titans, who are one of the new entrants to the IPL, got off to a great start by winning three games in a row this year before losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous competition. They are battling table top Rajasthan Royals and looking to get back on track to win.
Before the match, during the preview show, captain Hardik Pandya was shown leg-spin bowling after exchanging a few smiles with his teammate Rashid Khan. He tried to imitate the Afghan’s action and almost copied and was seen appealing after delivery bowling.

Rashid Khan and Hardik Pandya both picked up the franchise for Rs 15 crore before the auction. In addition to leading the team, Hardik Pandya has taken on a new role by batting in slot number four this year. He is also back in bowling and has done well so far with both bat and ball. He has scored 141 runs in four matches and taken three wickets.
The 23-year-old leg-spinner, meanwhile, has taken six wickets in four matches for the franchise so far. The Afghanistan bowler is chasing a record as he needs one more wicket to become the fastest spinner to take 100 IPL wickets in just 81 innings. Overall, he will be paired with Bhubaneswar Kumar to become the joint second-fastest player of the milestone. Only Lasith Malinga achieved this feat fast in just 70 innings.
