Lucas Ledezma, Leandro Blanco Pighi, Silvio Guttierez and Sebastian Rodriguez of C করrdoba will begin cycling from Cape Town to Doha on May 15, a journey that will cross 15 countries across two continents.
“The general idea of travel is to cover 10,500 kilometers through 15 countries for six months.” Ledezma, a 34-year-old physical education teacher, told Reuters. “The idea is to arrive in Doha four or five days before the opening match,” He added.
Argentina will play their first match of this year’s tournament against Saudi Arabia on November 22 at the Lusail Stadium.

Ledezma has previous experience with this type of crossing. In addition to cycling to Brazil to participate in the 2014 World Cup, in Russia for the 2018 finals, he has traveled to different countries on two wheels to cheer his compatriots on the 2018 Rio Olympics and the 2015 Copa Amrica in Chile.
For his 2022 adventure, he will join a documentary maker, a writer and a travel agent.
“Planning has been going on for months, sitting in every country to find out what’s going on, an in-depth investigation is underway.” Says Pighi, a 31-year-old writer.
“Bicycle travel is a beautiful thing because we don’t miss anywhere, we feel the journey, every little tree, every house, every family, kilometers upon kilometers,” He added with enthusiasm.
In addition to watching the matches, the purpose of the trip is to help the environment. One kilometer will be traveled by planting a tree in Mount Cordoba, about 600 kilometers northwest of the country’s capital, Buenos Aires.
