Bashundhara Group, the owner of Bashundhara Kings Club in Bangladesh, has emerged as a pioneer in investing in East Bengal. But before coming to the board, they have to complete some formalities.

“We have held preliminary talks with the Bashundhara Group, which is currently in talks with the Prime Minister’s Office.” East Bengal’s top executive committee member Debabrata Sarkar on Wednesday in the club tent.
“Once they get the green signal, our discussion will move forward. We are confident of announcing our decision in the next 15 days. “
Through the signing of a partnership with East Bengal, Shree Cement Limited (SCL) purchased a majority stake in the club on September 2, 2020, paving the way for its last-minute entry into the ISL.

In their opening season under Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler, they finished ninth, while in the final they reached a new low, finishing at the bottom of the table in a row between the club and SCL to sign a final contract.
So the association had to “finish” according to the East Bengal signed initial term sheet, and on Monday, SCL transferred Sporting rights, making them a free club to bid for a new investor.

Regarding the possibility of playing their third season in the ISL, Sarkar said: “We will definitely play in the ISL. Not only us, Mohammedan Sporting will also play in ISL in the coming days.
“Apart from ISL, we want to play in all possible tournaments. If necessary, we will prepare four different teams. ”
“I can’t say whether East Bengal will be the champions or not. But I can assure you that we will improve on our ISL show.
“East Bengal’s legacy and fan base has been built by our consistent performances. We have always finished in the top three, never falling behind the six,” he said, referring to SCL’s “mismanagement”.

Upon boarding, Mr. Cement promised long-term cooperation with the Red-and-Gold Brigade but problems began to arise with the term sheet before the second season. Sarkar added, “Our club has been around for 102 years but we have never faced such a crisis. Because the football infrastructure of the country has changed to ‘One Fine Morning’.
“Despite the competition, we are confident of building a strong team and we will be in the running for the championship.” He added that the process of identifying and signing players for the next season is already underway with the help of former players.

“We have asked for advice on the recruitment of our former players. They sent us a list of I-League players. They will be present for the scout players at the Santosh Trophy venue. ”
He further said that they will try to play under the supervision of ‘East Bengal Private Limited’, without tinkering with the iconic name and logo. “We will bring East Bengal back to where it is in a few years.” He concludes.
