It has been brought at a high price – Deepak Chahar was brought in at a staggering price of Rs 14 crore and CSK was expected to be part of the plan as they tried to defend their crown. However, a back injury during the Sri Lanka series saw him go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for rehabilitation and was expected to return to the next stage of the IPL.

CSK has to pay a big price – Deepak Chahar’s miss has had a negative impact on the team as they have lost four in a row at the start of the IPL season. Players like Faf du Plessis, Shardul Tagore and Josh Hazelwood have not paid their Rs 14 crore investment in their absence. Their tough start to the season is hard for CSK fans to swallow.
Deepak’s eyes are on the T20 World Cup – Deepak Chahar must be included in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup in October. An important asset to both the bat and the ball, Deepak’s addition to the team has added a new dimension to the team.
