If a non-contract player is injured and does not play a single game of the season, he misses the entire contract for the season if the franchise does not pay compensation. According to the policy, all central contracted players will be compensated if they miss the IPL season due to injury.

If, during the IPL, a contracted player is injured and dropped, the BCCI pays half of the contract and the franchise pays the rest.
