Warner needed 24 runs in the match to score 1000 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders. Warner lost his opening partner Prithvi Shaw in the first ball of the innings to chase 148 runs. However, Warner made a good start again for his franchise. Boundary hit in the first delivery of the innings through a delightful cover drive.
To speed up the Delhi Capitals’ run rate, he kept looking for boundaries and soon reached the milestone of scoring thousands against KKR in the sixth over of the innings.
Achieving the milestone, he is the second batsman after Rohit Sharma to cross 1000 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders.
