Kuldeep Yadav’s four-wicket haul against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday and stormy innings by David Warner and Rovman Powell helped the Delhi Capitals win by four wickets. Left-arm pacer Chetan Sakaria made his debut for the Delhi Capitals on Thursday and made an impact for his new franchise with the third delivery of the match against Kolkata Knight Riders when he got rid of the dangerous Aaron Finch cheaply.
After losing the toss, Sakaria pushed KKR first in the second over. Aaron Finch was clean bowled for 3 off seven balls. Finch’s off stump is pulled off with a full inswing. Sakaria was happy to get a big wicket in the first over of the first match.
The left-arm pacer, who played 14 matches for Rajasthan Royals last season, has bought the Delhi Capitals for Rs 4.2 crore this year.
Coming into the match, chasing a tough 147-run target, the Delhi Capitals got off to a bad start as in-form Umesh Yadav caught opener Prithvi Shaw off the first ball of the innings and bowled out the Golden Duck.

In the next over, medium pacer Harshit Rana dismissed Mitchell Marsh to give the Delhi Capitals a 17/2 upset. Lalit Yadav went down to bat with David Warner as the duo formed a much-needed partnership for DC and crossed the 50-run mark in 6.3 overs.
Warner batted aggressively while Lalit played the role of a sheet anchor and their pair crossed the 50-run mark. The 65-run stand was finally broken when Umesh dismissed Warner for 42 off 26 balls as DC lost their third wicket for 82 runs.
In the next over, Sunil Narine dismissed Lalit for 22 to put Delhi under pressure at 84/4.
Umesh Yadav got his third wicket, a valuable scalp of DC captain Rishabh Pant, for 2, as Delhi lost half of their team by 84 runs. Akshar Patel and Rovman Powell formed a small partnership to take Delhi to a total of triple figures. The 29-run partnership was broken when Axar was dismissed for 24 runs.
Shardul Tagore joined Powell and the West Indies hit an unbeaten 33 off 16 balls with three sixes and a four to end the match in the 19th over. This is the fourth win of Delhi Capitals in eight matches.
