Following the cancellation of the 2020 edition of the event due to the COVID-19 epidemic, FIFA, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) have confirmed the host cities after undertaking a comprehensive review and consultation process.

To ensure the safety of the players and other participants involved in the tournament, Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa and DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai have been announced as three venues that will welcome some bright emerging talents. And the future stars of women’s football, The LOC said in a press release.
Sarai Bareman, FIFA’s chief female football officer, said: “Following the recent FIFA India tour, this marks an important step and marks the beginning of the final countdown towards the tournament.”
Praful Patel, LOC Chairman, AIFF President and a member of the FIFA Council, added: “Following FIFA’s recent successful tour of India, it was decided to make a new footprint for the tournament, keeping abreast of the growing COVID-19 situation.

“Although Goa and Navi Mumbai have already shown considerable skill in hosting international tournaments, Bhubaneswar, an upcoming sports power, is fully aligned with the values of growth and development of this youth tournament.”
In addition to host India, six countries – Brazil, Chile, China PR, Colombia, Japan and New Zealand – have so far confirmed their participation and will be in the draw on June 24. With 16 teams competing in the tournament, the spot is still up for grabs. The tournament will be held from 11 to 30 October.
