The 32-year-old Englishman was in agony, with visuals suggesting Vlasic had broken his ankle. The Hammers man himself was visibly upset as he fell into tears and needed consolation from teammates Thomas Sosek, Declan Rice and Maxwell Cornet of Burnley.
Westwood was treated for a full 10 minutes before taking to the field. The whole crowd at London Stadium has given Westwood a standing ovation and the football community will now come together in their prayers for the player’s speedy recovery.
