15 EPL star failed drug test – None of them were punished:
- A total of six footballers from England, Wales and Scotland have failed doping tests. These players were tested between 2013 and 2020.
- Twelve of them tested positive for the banned performance-enhancing substance, one is still being investigated five months after the initial test, and no approval has been issued.
- The Premier League also contains four positives for the stimulant Ritalin and one hormone for the testosterone booster Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), which is often misused in cycling and mixed martial arts.
- The remaining top-flight positives were the steroid prednisolone and a derivative, as well as the diuretic indapamide, which can help with weight loss and act as a masking agent for other banned substances.
